I think this vendor uses their Amazon page to sell a variety of products, so this review is for the "Brawna Pro Contour White Mapping Paste for Brow and Lip Measuring - White Concealer." I have a problem with lipstick bleed, so I thought this product might help.
And it does. Here's what I like about this product: after you stipple it carefully around the lip area, cover with usual make up, and then apply lipstick pencil and lipstick, you don't experience the lipstick feathering or bleed you usually do. You only need to use a little, and the product is removable with soap and water or make-up remover.
Here's what I think might be improved: the vendor indicates it's cruelty free, but the product and vendor are not signed up for any industry cruelty-free programs, and instead use their own derivative logos (minus one star) - the difference between verbiage and actual commitment. I hope this vendor makes the actual commitment soon.
As an older woman who occasionally needs extra help with contouring, I've been looking for a paste-form contouring product in white for some time now. Since this paste is used for mapping, it has a super-high pigment content. I love that a little goes a long way! That's especially nice for stage makeup!
The paste goes on feeling a bit waxy, but quickly smooths into the skin. It's easy to get it blended in without losing the pigment. I've also noticed that it minimizes pores -- which means you'll want to be extra careful to clean it back out of your pores if you're using this as I do.
At any rate, this is a great little product for me to keep in my makeup kit both for stage and for those times when I'm a little bit more tired and want to smooth out some of what I call my "hag shadows."
Oh how I've missed a decent contour creme! Had one years ago and haven't found a contender until now! This was a great product!
I tried it a few ways:
1 - as a base on my eyelid (3rd picture) - over just primer. It goes on fairly smoothly, it's a light white, that doesn't go on totally flat, but more of a lightener. I used my hands and got a smooth layer pretty easily.
2 - to put some white accent lines near my eye (1st & 2nd pictures) - I generally put some solid white liner under my eye to make it pop and look a bit bigger - applied with a short bristled angular brush. It took me a bit of figuring (the brush was new, too), but pretty easily sorted out how to get solid lines with it.
3 - blended in to nose and cheekbones as a last layer (1st & 2nd pictures) - for real contouring. This is where I felt it really shone. It was easy with a small bit of it to really get the highlighting on, defining my nose and cheekbones easily, and blending into my base and shadow countour with very little effort.
I've used it twice so far on two different occasions, and it's been consistently great.
All around a great product. No smell, and it sat on my skin for hours without a problem. Granted - I have pretty easy going skin, so I'm not the person who's going to have a reaction to most things.
The paste is very easy to use and apply. It is super smooth and just glides on my skin. Its also super easy to remove. It can be used for many different purposes on the face but I love to use it to shape my brows. It also doesn't irritate my skin at all.
Works great!!
